Hi, I have a 2015 forester XT. I want to upgrade for more power but it’s my first car with cvt and I’ve been reading a lot of issues with the cvt with added power.
The mods I want to do are:
CAI
Mishimoto Charge pipe
Mishimoto Intercooler
Mishimoto catted downpipe
Invidia N1 exhaust
Hayden 679 transmission Cooler
Engine oil cooler
How much max power could I get out of this without blowing the transmission? And is there any other mods I could do to the transmission to take more power?
Regards,
Keishaun
Max power can be up to 280-300whp.
What can be done to make the CVT stronger? Looking to push 300awkw?
You can seek direction from IPT and other transmission building companies.
Hello.
I am new to the wrx car community. I have a stock 2016 wrx CVT limited. I want to tune it just a little bit. I want to get the invidia exhausted. But I don’t want to blow my transmission. Is there any recommendations or points I can get?
I replied by email to you.
Hey, I was wondering what whp and torque number id be getting with my mod list:
Invidia catted downpipe
Mishimoto CVT Cooler
Grimspeed Intake
Grimspeed EBCS
Perrin Chargepipe
Invidia N1 Dual Exit Catback Exhaust
A tuner I was talking to said he would make it 280whp 260tq purposely limiting it but I want more power than that, any suggestions?
Was answered by email
I was jus curious, an had a question about the suggested mod path. You guys have a dw300c fuel pump listed, if one isnt adding flex fuel capabilities, what is the purpose/benefit of upgrading the stock fuel pump?
If you do not have any issues with the pump, you can continue as normal. It is to provide longevity for Higher flow.
I have a 2017 wrx limited..CVT..tuned with these mods I’m making 280 Tq/300whp on 93 octane
Cobb V3 AP
Tmic/charge pipe
Cai
Catted jpipe
Aos
3-port ebcs
Finishing off the exhaust to a complete turbo-back will put me ovr 300 all around..after that, one could add Flex Fuel capabilities..an you would be well into..I would say 330 maybe..not sure..but at the point I’m at..a transmission cooler will need to be added. I can honestly say that with where my cvt is now, is a great increase over stock, it’s like the engine has been uncorked. This is what these cars should be like from factory.
With these mods and stock cvt you guys are getting 400 whp? I am getting 316-330 whp and have all these mods plus a 5 inch FMIC and F1 Motorsports high torque converter upgrade. Do you feel the stock CVT can handle 400 whp as a daily without issues?
Please note I replied to you by email.
Bro where did your torque converter??
The page is just a recommendation for mods. You can check IPT and Level10 to see.
Hi my names Thomas I drive a 2019 CVT Subaru WRX and I’ve been looking to build my car to be around 400-450 whp and maybe 400 tq. I guess my main question is how much it would cost roughly to go from stock to there and is it safe to do so. Without blowing the trans obviously.
The CVT may not last so long due to design limitations. When modding the Subaru to this level, we prefer to use other software that allow us to adjust the torque holding capacity of the clutches.
Regardless, you may have issues with the cvt belt and clutches.
Very interested in extra ponies on my txt, have herd of lots of horror stories with cvt. How long have you been testing this?
Testing what?
Our testing is for good function. We custom tune for you and the car. Not all cars are the same.
Any reason the F1 Motorsports Torque Converter isn’t listed?
We were not aware at the time of such mod, even working with owners who were heavily modded
